New smartphone game makes your own home haunted with terrifying ghosts!

If you're like me and you would probably actually evaporate from terror if you ever saw any kind of paranormal activity in your own home, then you will most likely never play or even look at this upcoming horror game for smartphones.

Night Terrors is the name of this hideous creation, and it uses your phone's camera to create an augmented reality in which your home is inhabited with horrifying ghosts.
Not only this, but the game will cleverly use your household furniture and decorations as props to scare you even more.

The game has 2 simple objectives and they are to 1. Save the Girl and 2. Survive. This is all that has been said so far, but it sounds horrific.
The game made nearly $47,000 on its Indiegogo campaign, which is 67% of the target. Even though it didn't reach its target, the game is still happening.

As much as I am a complete wimp when i comes to ghosts and ghouls, there is something about playing these horrible games that creates a sense of fun like no other. So I will be getting this game when it's out, I just need to make sure I get ready to move out straight after, as I will not want to stay in a house where I have seen a little devil child sitting in the corner of my living room.

Take a look at the trailer below to see for yourself, and visit the Indiegogo website for the game, as there is a lot of interesting technical information about the game, and also a number of opportunities for you to become a demon or ghost in the game itself! (As long as you can part with a few thousand dollars).

Make sure you support the game by pre ordering it for $5, which will get you a copy of the game on release and a personal thankyou from the developers.

Enjoy.

Interview with Resident Evil 2: Reborn developers "Invader Games"

INTERVIEW

As you should all know by now, Resident Evil 2 is FINALLY, getting the remake it deserves, and developers Invader Games from Italy are the reason for this beautiful happening.

Luckily, I got to interview the amazingly talented team and ask them the questions that everybody wants to know about the game.

Here's what was said:

1. Could you just quickly tell me a bit more about Invader Games and what
you as a games company look to achieve in the future?

"InvaderGames is an independent Italian software house born in September
2014 and settled in Colleferro, a city near Rome.
It counts over 20 team members such as coders, 2D and 3D artists, sound artists etc.
During the last 6 months, We worked on Resident Evil 2 Reborn on Unreal Engine 4, but
also on 3 games (for mobile, for Google Cardboard and for PC). We plan to
release these games in the next months."

2. So Resident Evil 2 Reborn looks incredible. What was/is the main thing
that you wanted to achieve with this remake?

"As fans of the original game, We just want to create a new version of the
game following our vision and our creativity, developing a game plan that,
obviously, will be usefull for our next games in the future. In few words,
We just would like to celebrate Resident Evil 2 in our way."

3. Resident Evil 2 has lots of awkward game mechanics due to its age. For
example the inventory system. How have you gone about modernizing some of
these mechanics, and will you be adding any completely new features to the
game?

"We want to modernize all the old mechanics with new ideas, but always
considering the original features of the game.
We have much respect for the old system 'cause it brings “nostalgia”, but at the same we'd like to
introduce more refined "modern" gameplay and mechanics. The new Health
System is the perfect example. For the new features, you have to wait the
Alpha release."

4. What made you choose Resident Evil 2 over the other entries in the
series? As much as RE2 is my favourite one, I would love to see Nemesis
brought to life in Unreal Engine 4.

"Because everybody loves RE2 and all the world has been waiting waiting for
a remake for years and years. It’s also our favourite chapter of the
series.
We love Nemesis too, and for this reason We are working on some new
features with different characters and enemies from the original game."

5. How similar will the level design be to RE2, will we get to relive the
encounter with the Licker once again?

"We changed things up a little bit about level design and boss fights.
You'll see in the alpha this summer, but maybe it was already clear in the
last two trailers."

6. What characters have you remade for the game? Will we be seeing the fat
shop owner again? or our friend who turns into a zombie at the police
station?

"We can’t talk much about that, at this moment all our work is focused on
the gameplay and on the tech/graphic features. Being in Alpha stage we
would like to show technical improvents and graphical fidelity. About the
story and the characters, We can just say that We're working on it, without
leaving out too much from the original game."

7. Im sure you get asked this alot, but what do you think of the newer
entries to the Resident Evil series? Do you think that going back to its
dark roots is what the franchise needs?

"Sure, and our work is the proof. We want old atmospheres mixed with new
features and gameplay. The aim is to excite and scare people, immersing
them into the game."

8. Obviously you are fans of remaking classic games, what do you think
about the news of a Final Fantasy VII remake revealed earlier this year at
E3?

"Great! We waited it for a long time!"

9. How much fun was it being able to recreate such an iconic game, using
much more modern technology?

"We'll be honest. It's really stimulating and funny, but is also incredibly
hard. We are not a huge studio, but our effort is the same as a triple-A
dev. house. So you can image how difficult is working on a project huge
like this one. Fortunately, the support and the words of the people bring
us new strength everyday."

10. Any other projects that we should be looking forward too?

"Sure. Follow our site and socials to know more about our projects."
http://invadergames.eu/site/language/en/

11. So RE2 Reborn's alpha is nearly available, do you have a release date in
mind yet? If not when would you like to see it released?

"The Unreal Engine 4 alpha version of Resident Evil 2 Reborn will be
available in the next weeks, and it will be useful to receive feedback from
fans and to bring a more complete version of the game. Thank you so much
and greetings from the InvaderGames Team!"

Thank you so much for taking your time out to answer my questions. RE2 Reborn genuinely looks absolutely incredible, and I am sure that as your studio grows you will produce some unbelievable gaming experiences.

So there you have it, the Resident Evil 2 Reborn alpha will be released in the next few weeks. Make sure you download the alpha and support this amazing studio.
Follow Invader Games on twitter and facebook, and of course head to their website to follow all of their projects.

Fallout Anthology announced for PC

So turns out that Executive Producer Todd Howard isn't the only Bethesda super hero at the moment, as earlier today at Quakecon a new hero emerged from the currently on fire games studio.

Pete Hines who is the Vice President of Bethesda, and is mostly in charge of the PR and Marketing, took to the stage today and announced the Fallout Anthology exclusively for PC.
The collection will contain Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3 Game of the Year and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition.
All of these games will come neatly slotted, with a space for your Fallout 4 disc, inside your own Fat Man mini nuke, which makes noises!

nuke

Now it is no surprise that this is a PC exclusive, as half the games in the collection were only designed for PC, and would be pretty unplayable on a console of today's generation.

Price wise, Best Buys over in the states have listed it as $50, so probably around £35 (or 30 if we're lucky) over here in the UK, which is a ridiculously good price. I mean, I would literally spend that much just on a noise making mini nuke replica, so to have all of the games from one of the best franchises in the world is a welcome addition I suppose.

The Fallout Anthology will be released at the end of September, for around $50 and exclusively for PC.
Don't forget (as if you would've) that we also have Fallout 4 coming in November, and hopefully Fallout Shelter being released in August for Android users like myself.

Thanks for reading!

New trailer for No Man's Sky and it looks bigger than ever.

So you know that new game that everyone is going on about?
You know, that one that is almost impossible to get your head round, because of how stupendously massive and endless it is?
That game that sounds far too good to be true, but by the looks of things is actually true?

Well that'd be No Man's Sky, the upcoming space exploration game which proudly (and rightly) boasts infinite possibility and without a doubt the largest in game universe in the universe.

Now the reason for this article, as I'm sure you guessed from the title, is yesterday a new trailer emerged onto the internets showing off the game in all of its glory.

In this new trailer we have lots of exploration, wild life, space battles and a little bit more exploration for you to feast your eyes on, whilst crying inside at the torturous feeling of knowing that you're not going to be able to explore everywhere and that impending thought of parts of the game that wll be left undiscovered for ever.

So please take a look at the new trailer, and see for yourself how impressive this game is looking, but be prepared for a painfully long outro title screen, where you will patiently wait for a release date that never even appears.
I cant help but think they did that on purpose y'know. Bastards.

As always.. Enjoy -

Resident Evil 2 Reborn - Revisit Racoon City in beautiful Unreal Enginel 4 graphics

PREVIEW

So I'm sure we can all agree that everyone was pretty excited when the Final Fantasy VII remake was announced right? But now I don't even care, and neither should you.

Die hard Resident Evil fans, watch out because there are new kids in town, and these kids (not literally) are part of Italian game studio Invader Games. Now these wonderful people have done what everyone has been crying for, and that is remake Resident Evil 2 with the over the shoulder camera perspective.
Resident Evil 2 reborn is a 100% complete REMAKE, none of this remaster bollocks, and it looks bloody great.

This is what the guys have to say about it on their website -

"Resident Evil 2 Reborn comes from the idea of InvaderGames team, crowds to pay tribute to one of the greatest titles ever created in the video games indutry, through a modern interpretation of the original Resident Evil 2.
Using as a basis the assets of another title in the series ”Resident Evil Darkside Chornicles” the game began as a fanmade game / mod free non-profit.
The goal of Resident Evil 2 Reborn is not only to recreate the universe of Resident Evil 2 in key next-gen with Unreal Engine 4, but create a game that deepen and expand the experience of the original Resident Evil 2, giving to the player a new game that combines the old soul of the original to new and interesting features written from scratch."
So this is probably the most exciting news ever and you can literally download the alpha here - http://invadergames.eu/site/downloads/.
Also watch this snippet of gameplay, but please bear in mind that this is an ALPHA, so it isn't actually finished yet.
Enjoy.

New Horror Game will go offline forever when all of its players die.

PREVIEW

New indie horror game The Flock, developed by Dutch studio Vogelsap has an extremely unique and eerie twist to it.

If you haven't heard about The Flock before now, it is a first person "asymmetrical" multiplayer game, and as it is one of these new indie horror games, it looks bloody horrid.
Its set on a post post post apocalyptic earth, where all of our disgusting pollution has blocked out the sun, causing all of us humans to be long gone.
You as the player take control of a new kind of creature, part of a new breed known as The Flock.
Now as i'm sure you have guessed there are some even newer and scarier monsters called carriers which would love nothing more than to make the game unplayable for everyone.

Now to make the game even more creepy, once the in game population (unsure about the full details of how this works) reaches 0, nobody will ever be able to purchase the game.
Oh but it doesn't end there. All of the people who own the game up to this point can play in the exclusive cinematic finale, before the game is shut down forever.

This is such a new and ambitious idea, I am really on board for this and even though I will probably be an early contribution to the wipe out of the in game population, I would love to experience this.

Take a look at the Closed Alpha trailer here: -

Dead Island 2 really is "Dead"

So Dead Island 2, the REAL sequel to the love or hate zombie mauling RPG has lost its developer.

Supposedly being released this year (actually about 3 months ago) and then being delayed until TBA 2016, Dead Island 2 could be nothing more than brain food for much longer than we thought.

Yager, the team behind Spec Ops the Line were in charge of developing this sequel, and the live action trailer with some nice gameplay demos, made the game look really quite promising.

It had everything the first game should have had, and that was comedy and style. Also going up against Dying Light, it was important that it showed some distinguishable differences in the kind of game it was, which couldn't have been easy, considering Dying Light was pretty much a spiritual successor to Dead Island anyway.

SO the bottom line is, Yager are no longer developing Dead Island 2, which means the game is condemned to the pits of development hell. But hey you never know, maybe Gearbox will take it under their wings just like they did with Duke Nukem and Aliens, because they were unfortunately gracefully saved from similar problems.

What do you think about this news?
Were you looking forward to littering the sunny suburbs of California with buckets of brains, bones and blood? Or could you not care less, because lets face it, Dying Light was good enough.

Minecraft Story Mode.. Yes this is unfortunately real

PREVIEW

So before I even start discussing what has recently emerged from Minecon 2015, let me just say that I really dislike Minecraft down to my personal taste in games. I can see why people like it, but I personally dont get it, and I really have tried.

Now that I have got that off of my chest, let me tell you what I think of something in particular that was shown at the minecraft dedicated convention, which I didn't even know was a thing, until very recently.
In case you haven't guessed already, it is regarding the new Telltale game based on the hugely narrative driven world of Minecraft.
Yep.
Telltale games who pride themselves on their hugely tense and dramatic choice driven games are now creating an episodic game about minecraft.

When I first heard about this, I didnt really care for it, or pay any attention to it at all. That was until I saw the absolutely horrific trailer showcasing the game in all of its glory.

Now here is my problem with this idea, and one reason why I think that it is going to be an absolute car crash.
All episoidic games are driven by tension.

Whether it be the telltale games (The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones), or even Resident Evil Revelations 2.
All of these games are popular as they share the same format as a TV Series, not only in terms of the episodes, but also because of those rage inducing cliff hangers and favourite character deaths (I'm looking at you Walking Dead and Game of Thrones), which are perfectly delivered because of the wait in between episodes.

This cannot be real. Please.

What I am getting at is, HOW is a game based on Minecraft going to create the same tension that will be benefited by being split up by episodes? I simply cannot see a game set in this type of world, with these types of characters creating a narrative that will pull me in, and make me want to play on after each episode.

Sure you can say "But it will be fun, the characters will be cute, games dont have to be narrative driven blahblah", all of that is completely right, BUT, we are talking about a solely narrative driven game here. Telltale do not offer fun and cute gameplay, they offer games where you must make huge story changing choices and deal with the consequences of everything you choose to do.

"Do you choose to take the pick-axe and mine eastwards away from the creepers, or take the sword and fight them - eventhough this is a family friendly world so both choices will probably have the same outcome, which one hmm?". No! There is just no way that this will work.

The whole choice system replacing any real gameplay will be too boring for kids, and the story and lack of tension will be too boring for adults.

Obviously I could be absolutely wrong (I wont be), but hey - watch the trailer for yourself and just look at how laughably bad it looks.
